Taylor Armstrong (born June 10, 1971) is an American television personality, memoirist and philanthropist. She appeared on the reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Taylor was born in Independence, Kansas, on June 10, 1971. She was a cheerleader at Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated in 1989 with the name Shana Hughes. It has been reported that she changed her first and last name multiple times between high school and moving to California.

Armstrong's first major television appearance was on the Bravo TV series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010 while married to former venture capitalist Russell Armstrong. During the series, other cast members brought to light the couple's alleged money troubles and claims of spousal abuse. After the truth about their marriage came out, Russell took his own life and was found by his landlord and Taylor on August 15, 2011. That September, Taylor said that she had suffered severe physical abuse during her marriage.

She married Russell Armstrong in 2005; their daughter Kennedy Caroline was born in 2006. In 2011, she filed for divorce, accusing her husband of domestic violence. She had a titanium mesh implant implanted to hold up her right eye because of Russell's abuse. He committed suicide shortly after.

Two years later she was nominated again for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, as well as the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Wright's Atonement. Knightley was born in Teddington, London, England, the daughter of Sharman Macdonald, an actress turned playwright, and Will Knightley, an actor. Her Scottish-born mother is of Scottish and Welsh descent, while her father is English. She was meant to be named "Kiera", after the Russian ice skater, Kira Ivanova, but her mother misspelled the name when she went to register her. She has an older brother, Caleb.

Knightley lived in Richmond, attending Stanley Junior School, Teddington School and Esher College. She requested an agent at the age of three. At six it was noticed that she was dyslexic but by eleven, with her parents' support and much tuition, Knightley says "they deemed me to have got over it sufficiently", though she is still a slow reader and can't sight-read. Knightley has noted that she was "single-minded about acting" during her childhood. She performed in a number of local amateur productions, which included After Juliet written by her mother, and United States written by her drama teacher, Ian McShane. She focused on art, history, and English literature while at Esher, but left after a year to focus on her acting.

Isabelle Caro (13 September 1982 – 17 November 2010) was a French model and actress from Marseille, France, who became well known after appearing in a controversial advertising campaign "No Anorexia" which showed Caro with vertebrae and facial bones showing under her skin in a picture by photographer Oliviero Toscani.

Caro suffered from severe anorexia nervosa from the age of 13. Her anorexia was caused by what she called a "troubled childhood". When she appeared on CBS's The Insider, it was revealed that at the worst of her eating disorder, she weighed only 25 kilograms (55 lb; 3 st 13 lb) at a height of 1.65 metres (5 ft 5 in); her most recent weight was 33 kilograms (73 lb; 5 st 3 lb).

She appeared on Channel 4's Supersize vs Superskinny which aired on 11 March 2008, in which she spoke to journalist Anna Richardson about her anorexia.

Caro was hospitalized for the first time when she was 20. At her worst (in terms of weight), in 2006, she slipped into a coma, weighing just 25 kg (55 lb). The doctor said she would not survive the coma but she did.

Caro was also interviewed in the second episode of the TV documentary series, The Price of Beauty, in which Jessica Simpson and her two best friends, Ken Pavés and CaCee Cobb, traveled the world to explore the meaning of true beauty. Simpson investigated the problem of how some female fashion models have become obsessed with being skinny. Caro talked about how she became anorexic and warned other girls about the affliction. Simpson was moved to say "What you are doing right now makes you more beautiful and I hope women all over the world hear about the story and it is important to know that how skinny you are does not make you beautiful." It aired on 22 March 2010 in the USA and on 21 August in Japan.

Caro died on 17 November 2010 in France, after spending about two weeks in hospital with acute respiratory disease. The cause of her death is unknown, although it was probably as a result of immunodeficiency due to anorexia. Caro's acting instructor, Daniele Dubreuil-Prevot, told the Associated Press news agency that Caro had died "after returning to France" from a job in Tokyo, and that "she had been sick for a very long time" (in reference to her anorexia). Her family only reported Caro's death to the media a month afterward, on 29 December 2010. Caro died in Paris and is buried in the Cimetière du Montparnasse. On 18 January 2011, it was reported that Caro's mother had killed herself during the previous week.

Ana Carolina Reston Macan (June 4, 1985 – November 15, 2006) was a Brazilian fashion model. Reston was born to a middle-class family in Jundiaí, on the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil. At the age of 13, she began her modeling career after winning a local beauty contest in her hometown. She was represented by renowned modeling agencies such as Ford, Elite and L'Équipe in countries such as China, Turkey, Mexico, and Japan, and appeared in prestigious ad campaigns such as Giorgio Armani.

In January 2004 Reston made her first overseas trip to Guangzhou, China. While attending a casting call there, she was reportedly informed that she was 'too fat', a criticism, it has been said, that led to her decline into anorexia nervosa.

At the time of her death, Reston weighed just 40 kg (88 lbs) at a height of 1.73 m (5 ft 8 in), and had been hospitalized since October 25, 2006, for kidney malfunction due to anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, which included a diet consisting only of apples and tomatoes. She had a body mass index (BMI) of only 13.4, well below the index value of 16 which the World Health Organization considers to be severe thinness. Her condition became more serious and deteriorated into generalized infection that led to her death at the age of 21.

Reston's mother Miriam told the Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper, "I noticed something was wrong when she returned from Japan. She was too thin when she returned and when I told her to eat something, she would say: 'Mom please don't fight with me; there is nothing wrong with me, I'm fine.

Crystal Renn (born June 18, 1986 in Miami, Florida) is an American fashion model and author. Renn started her modeling career in high fashion at the age of 14 after being spotted by a professional scout in her hometown in Clinton, Mississippi. Renn was told she would need to lose almost a third of her total body weight if she wanted to become a model. Later, after years of anorexia nervosa, Renn reassessed her diet and exercise habits. After gaining 70 pounds (32 kg) and re-emerging as a U.S. size 12, she was re-marketed by her agents as a plus-size model. Renn has authored a book, Hungry: A Young Model's Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves, about her experiences in the fashion industry in relation to her several body type transformations.

On June 30, 2007, Renn married her longtime boyfriend Gregory Vrecenak at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in Manhattan, New York. Fashion portraits of her wedding were taken by photographer Brian Boulos. In mid-2009 the couple ended their marriage. Renn currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. In November 2010, Renn said she had lost weight through hiking and yoga, and that her dress size dropped to a US 8.

Renn has worked repeatedly with notable fashion photographers Ruven Afanador and Steven Meisel. Crystal has enjoyed lucrative contracts with many high-profile plus-size clothing manufacturers such as Lane Bryant, Evans and Torrid. Notable runway appearances include Shiatzy Chen, Chanel, Zac Posen, Vena Cava, Heatherette, Elena Miro, and most notably for Jean Paul Gaultier in his Spring/Summer prêt-à-porter 2006 collection in Paris, garnering favorable and extensive media interest. She recently appeared in the F/W 2010 Jean Paul Gaultier campaign and has appeared in campaigns for H&M, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Saks Fifth Avenue, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jimmy Choo, Barneys, DSquared², Zac Posen and Nordstrom. Renn also appeared in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Renn is also notable for appearing in back-to-back campaigns in 2007 wearing big crayons and regular-sized (not specifically plus-size) clothing for Spanish retailer Mango; her photos appearing amid those of smaller models and without notation regarding her larger size, a rare occurrence in conventional apparel advertising.

In 2011, Renn became the face of the spring/summer campaign for Jimmy Choo and the spring/summer MR Denim Collection by Marina Rinaldi, a plus-size jeans collection.

Renn's first book, Hungry, was co-authored by Marjorie Ingall and released on September 8, 2009. Renn reported for Glamour at New York Fashion Week 2010 on the fall collections. As of 2012, Renn's yearly income was in the high six figures.

Lizzie Velásquez

Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Velásquez (/ˈlɪzi vəˈlæskɛz/; born March 13, 1989) is an American motivational speaker and author. She suffers from a rare congenital disease which, among other symptoms, impedes her from accumulating body fat. This condition resulted in bullying during her childhood and early youth and ultimately inspired her to take up motivational speaking.

The eldest of three children born to Rita and Guadalupe Velásquez, Lizzie was born on March 13, 1989 in Austin, Texas. Born four weeks prematurely, her birth weight was only 1,219 grams (2 pounds eleven ounces). Her age was reported as 23 in September 2012, a time when she was nearing graduation from Texas State University majoring in communication studies.

She has zero percent body fat and has never weighed more than 29 kg (64 pounds). She is unable to gain weight and is required to eat many small meals and snacks throughout the day. She is blind in her right eye, which began to cloud over when she was four years of age, and has limited vision in the other. She has a weak immune system. Her condition is similar to many other conditions, especially progeria. However, her condition is not terminal. Involved medical researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center have expressed the opinion that it may be a form of neonatalprogeroid syndrome, which at least has spared her healthy bones, organs, and teeth.

She has some progeroid physical characteristics, such as a pointed nose and aging skin, but she has additional problems beyond that diagnostic classification. Ever since she was dubbed the "world's ugliest woman" by cyberbullies in a video posted on YouTube, Lizzie Velásquez has spoken out against bullying.

Her first published work was co-authored (with her mother Rita) and is a self-published autobiography released in 2010 in English and Spanish. It is called Lizzie Beautiful: The Lizzie Velásquez Story and has never-before-seen journal entries Lizzie's mother wrote to Lizzie as a child.

Next Lizzie wrote two books directed towards teenagers, which share personal stories from her life and offer advice. Be Beautiful, Be You (2012) shares Lizzie's journey 'to discover what truly makes us beautiful, and teaches readers to recognize their unique gifts and blessings'. That book is also available in Spanish as Sé bella, sé tú misma (2013). Choosing Happiness (2014) talks about some of the obstacles Lizzie has faced in her life, and how she's 'learned the importance of choosing to be happy when it's all too easy to give up'. Both books were published by a Redemptorist Catholic publishing house, Liguori Publications.
